Kotoko train under improved security

Players and technical team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko trained at their Adako Jarchie base on Tuesday under improved security ahead of their trip to Cameroon to face Coton Sports de Garoua in the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

The situation was occasioned by a threat to have come from one ‘Seidu’, a die-hard fan of the club who threatened to storm the training grounds of the club to fire the new coach, Charles k. Akonnor.

Seidu’s action is believed to have been occasioned by Kotoko’s struggle against Ashgold in the J.A Kufour Cup match which failed to produce a winner.

‘Seidu’, according to sources within the club had carried a similar threat to the latter before after he led thugs to prevent Zradvko Logarusic from training with the team.

Armed with that information, management moved quickly to beef up security to protect Akonnor and allow the team to have uninterrupted training.
The team is preparing for their CAF Confederation Cup match against Coton Sport to be played at the Stade Omnisports Roumde-Adjia in Garoua.

The second leg will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi between January 18 and 20.
