Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporters have lauded the appointment of Mr. Kwame Kyei as the club’s new Executive Board Chairman.
During a phone-in session on many radio programmes that was monitored by the Times Sports yesterday, the followers of the Porcupine Warriors commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11 for listening to their calls for a new leader and appointing one for them.
They disclosed that looking at the state of their club and how advanced Ghana football has become, the club needed a wealthy man like Mr Kwame Kyei to help steer the affairs of the club.
“We strongly believe that Otumfuo has given us the right person to turn the fortunes of the club around,” one of the fans asserted.
Esteemed football administrator, Mr Abbey Pobi, in an interview with Asempa FM revealed that he supported the decision by the Life Patron of the club to appoint a new leader and added that Mr Kyei is the right man to lead the Reds.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko through their owner Nana Asantehene dissolved the Paul Adu Gyamfi-led administration after their term of office ended in September, swiftly replacing them with Mr Kyei who is yet to name his team.
Mr Kyei is the CEO of a number of businesses including Unity Oil Company, Light FM and Television, Vision 1 FM, Sports Hotel and Sports Recreational Centre and among other subsidiaries in Ghana.
