Kotoko Recruitment On Course – Opoku Nti

ACTING Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti has called on supporters of the club to exercise patience as the club’s recruitment plan is on course.

opoku_nti_for_liberia_matchHe said management would disclose names of newly recruited players at the appropriate time, reducing stories in the media suggesting that Kotoko has signed six players and transfer-listed six other players were mere speculation.

Although it is normal to see the media come up with various stories on player transfer and recruitment at this time, it appears a lot of attention was devoted to Kotoko’s recruitment or transfers in the past week, heightening fears or expectations within the club’s supporters’ rank. Most of them have sought to know the veracity of the stories they heard in the media.

Kotoko’s office, was for instance, inundated with telephone calls and text messages from fans seeking the truth of the story that, six players have been transfer-listed.

Opoku Nti said he understood the eagerness of the fans but also warned that, in times like this, speculation on player transfer or recruitment was rife.

“I can’t confirm any of the stories you are telling me. They are all speculation. We have our recruitment programme on course. That is the assurance. When there is certainty, you will be the first to publish it” he said.

The Acting General Manager denied receiving names of the so-called Kotoko transfer-listed players.
