Kotoko off to Zambia

Kumasi Asante Kotoko left for Zambia yesterday to play Zesco United in the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederations Cup competition final group game.

Mr. Edmund Ackah, management member of Kotoko explained in an interview that, the team connected straight from Accra to Ndorla, Zambia for the crucial final game of the group.

He said Kotoko will be looking forward to win the game in Zambia to enhance their chances of progressing to the next stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, midfielder Richard Senanu has joined the Asante Kotoko team to Zambia.

The hard working defensive midfielder has been out for two weeks after sustaining an injury in the Porcupine Warriors’ 2-1 win over Zesco United in Kumasi a fortnight ago.

Senanu was expected to be included in the team against Al Hilal last Sunday but failed a last minute match fitness test.
However, his recovery is good news for Coach C.K Akonnor, whose success in the competition can be largely attributed to the tireless midfielder. –GNA
