Kotoko host RTU in 1/16th MTN FA Cup

JrdnThe round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup Competition bounces back this weekend across the various match venues will see last year’s winners Asante Kotoko take on RTU at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday May 24.

Berekum Chelsea will however travel to Cape Coast on Wednesday May 20th as guests of Great Astronomers for their outstanding Round of 32 match with the winner playing at home to Medeama on Sunday.

Other matches that will be played over the weekend include:

Ashantigold vs Inter Allies – Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi – Saturday,May 23

Afienya City vs Hearts of Oak – Tema Sports Stadium,Tema – Sunday, May 24

Aduana Stars vs Istanbul FC- Nana Agyeman Badu Park, Dormaa – Sunday, May 24

Tamale Utrecht vs BA United – Tamale Sports Stadium,Tamale – Sunday,May 24

WAFA vs Mighty Jets – WAFA Park, Sogakope – Sunday,May 24

*Former Ghanaian international Tonny Baffoe has been appointed by the Federation of International Football (FIFA) to be a match coordinator at the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand. Ghana Sports can exclusively confirm.

Baffoe has been assigned by the World Football governing body to coordinate activities at the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland.

The ex-Black Stars defender is however expected to put in place measures to ensure the smooth flow of activities at the venue which will host the opening game of the competition.

This means the 49-year-old will lead host New Zealand and Ukraine onto the pitch in the opening match on May 30.

He is also expected to serve as the match commissioner in other games which will be staged at the arena.
