Kotoko Earned GH¢65.000.00 For Winning League

KotokoPremier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko enriched their bank account with a fat prize money of GH¢65.000.00 for winning the 2013/2014 League.

The Porcupine Warriors won the competition with three matches to spare and were followed Heart of Lions and Hearts of Oak.

With 55 points bagged from 30 matches, that proved enough for the Asanteman ‘Reds’ to top the table to fill their account with GH¢65.000.00. 

Closest followers, Heart of Lions, Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold in second, third and fourth positions receive GH¢15.000.000; GH¢10.000.00 and GH¢5.000.00 respectively.

They have since been paid, according to officials of the  Professional League Board.

Meanwhile, Sportscrusader.com can confirm that German Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund has made contacts with the agents of Accra Hearts of Oak’s young prodigy, Erick Kumi.

The reports say Dortmund’s agents have recommended the signing of the Ghana Under-20 striker who has played only a season for his club, Accra Hearts of Oak.

Eric Kumi has two-years remaining on his Hearts contract but Dortmund are said to be willing to buy him out of his contract.

Dortmund manager, Jürgen Klopp is said to be determined to secure the young Hearts forward because of the great footballing talents he has seen in him.

“Dortmund wants Eric Kumi because they believe he has a bright future as a player. They have enquired of his availability and are prepared to put in a bid anytime soon. We are waiting on them to put in an offer so we will take it from there” representatives of the forward told sportscrusader.com.

If secured, Kumi would be offered the opportunity to prove his worth with the Dortmund Under-20 side from where he will graduate to the first team.
