Kotoko after Dwarfs’ striker

Fb2League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have taken a step towards sharpening their attacking force by officially making inquiries about the top scorer of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs.

Frederick Boateng, bagged eight premier league goals for Dwarfs in the First Capital Plus Premier League, to become the club’s top scorer and the sixth on the list of top scorers.

Solomon Ofosu Ware, a member of Asante Kotoko communications team disclosed this in an interview with Metro fm, “We have written to Ebusua Dwarfs for Frederick Boateng, who plays as a striker and he scored around 9 goals last season….”

Although, the General Manager for the Porcupine Warriors, Opoku Nti has made it clear that all players who are in their scheme of things woould not be for sale, there have being interests from other clubs abroad, especially those who were in the Ghana team that finished runners-up in the 2014 African Nations Championship.

Meanwhile Kotoko captain, Michael Akuffu is on his way out of the premier league as Libyan giants Al Akhdar are close to signing him in a one-year deal.

The ex-Feyenoord midfielder is expected to arrive in Tripoli in the coming days before heading to Bayda to sign his portion of the contract and subsequently undergo medicals, Goal Ghana understands.

He will be unveiled to the club’s supporters at the Omar Al-Mukhtar Stadium should he succeed with medicals. Akuffu won three league titles and became the first captain to guide Asante Kotoko to win a double – Premier League and FA Cup – since the club’s formation in 1935.

*Yaw Acheampong has submitted his CV to the Hearts of Oak Board expressing his interest to Coach the club.

Acheampong a former Ghana International and now head Coach of division one side, Gold Stars submitted his CV on Monday to the Hearts Board search party and has expressed his desire to take up the vacant managerial role at the club.

Gathered reports indicate that after Hearts’ bid to hire Professor Mintah hit a snag, and Yussif Abubakar failing to join Hearts, the Phobians have had to turn their attention to other local coaches as thy hope to appoint a new manager by close of this week.

“Yaw Acheampong has expressed his interest to take up the role as the head Coach and has submitted his CV to that effect. After our efforts to hire Professor Mintah failed due to issues beyond our control, we have now turned our attention to other coaches and we hope to appoint a substantive manager before next week” a Hearts Board member revealed to Sportscrusader.com.
