The chiefs and people of Korleman has launched a three-year plan development plan that prominently features the promotion of education.
Among other things, the plan estimated to cost GH¢ 300.000, includes the construction of an extra three-classroom block with office and a store, a clinic and public places of convenience for the area.
Nii Korle VII, Chief of Korleman, who launched the plan at a durbar to celebrate their annual Homowo festival, was optimistic that the plan would aid the rapid growth of the area.
He said the projects would be supported with communal labour and financial contributions from community members, identifiable groups and organisations.
He called on the Ga West Municipal Assembly, the Member of Parliament for the area and the World Vision International office based in Amasaman, to support the people with the provision of school infrastructure to accommodate the more than 500 children of school going age who are currently out of school.
Mr. Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea, the Member of Parliament for the area who was the guest of honour, pledged cement and roofing materials for the proposed projects, and lauded their community self-help spirit.
