Doctors at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, have appealed to the police to provide security in the area following frequent burglary at their residents which has caused fear and panic in the area.
They said seven doctors have fallen victims to burglary activities within couple of months and their property worth hundreds of Ghana cedis stolen by the thieves.
A doctor at the Pathology Department of the hospital, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Ghanaian Times that it was the fourth time he was experiencing such an incident.
The doctor said when he returned from Germany, he realised that his mobile phones, scanner and electrical gadgets had been stolen.
He said a compliant had been lodged at the Korle Bu District Police Command.
When contacted the Korle Bu District Police Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Theophilus Essilfie said four cases have so far been reported to his outfit.
He said the command would meet the security personnel at the hospital to find solutions to the problem.
