The King of Notsie, the ancestral home of Ewes in Togo, Togbe Agokoli IV, has congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election as President of Ghana.
The congratulation message was delivered to the President-elect by a two-member delegation from the king’s palace in Notsie, at the forecourt of the Asogli Palace at Ho-Bankoe, on Saturday.
It coincided with a durbar to honour the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, on his election as president of the National House of Chiefs.
Nana Akufo-Addo was a special guest at the durbar.
In a summary, the leader of the delegation, Duto Adabra VII, said it was the hope of King Agokoli that Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration would maintain the strong cordiality between the chieftaincy institutions of Ghana and Togo, consolidate the gains and build more areas of mutual development and cooperation between them.
Receiving the message, Nana Akufo-Addo promised to work with the traditional authorities to modernise the chieftaincy institution and foster the bond of affinity between them and their Togolese counterparts.
