KCDC gives to Teshie orphanage

The Kuntunse Child Development Centre (KCDC), in collaboration with the Global Evangelical Church, has donated items worth GH¢2,500 to the Teshie Orphanage.

The items included detergents, used clothings, toilet rolls, assorted soaps and rice.

The KCDC in partnership with the Global Evangelical Church and Compassion International, has given support to over 300 children living in less privileged communities around Kuntunse, in the Ga West Municipality.

The donation was to give back to society part of the support the KCDC received from its sponsors.

The proprietress of the orphanage, Mrs Parker, received the items and thanked the donors for the gesture and pledged that the items would be put to good use.

Rev. Edem Ofori, Kuntunse District Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church, commended the children of the centre for giving back to society at such a tender age, saying “we don’t have to wait to get rich and old before we start sharing what we receive from God with others”.

He assured children of the orphanage of God’s love for them and urged them to be obedient and grateful to their benefactors.

Present at the donation were Mrs Suzzie Ofori, the pastor’s wife; Mrs Catherine Lawluvy, chairperson of the committee that supervised the project; Mrs Regina Akorta, Project Director and Mrs Evelyn Mensah, representative of caregivers of the project.
