KATECO to hold career counselling forum for students

The Kaneshie Senior High Technical School (KATECO) will hold a special career counselling forum for its students on Friday, February 16, at 10.00 am as part of activities lined up to mark the 60th anniversary of the school.

According to the headmistress of the School, Madam Pearl Bruce, the counselling session will provide an opportunity for a cream of top industrialists, academicians, business tycoons and other professionals from the Ghanaian society who were once students of the School to counsel and coach the current students about the choice and prospects of subjects and careers.

She disclosed that some of the personalities to lead the session include Dr Alex  Achine, Chief Executive of Oak Financial Services, Mr Seth Fiati, Managing Director of Sterlin Motors, Dr Abenney Mickson, lecturer, University of Ghana, Mr Leslie Vanderpuiye, pharmacist, Mr Alex Adjei, legal practitioner/pharmacist. Mr Charles Botchwey, retired Assistant Headmaster, Mr Mathew Antie, Supreme Court Registrar, Mrs Winifred Odoi, Ghana Revenue Authority, Dr Theophilus B. Kwoffie, lecturer, KNUST and Mrs Ekua Totime, a business woman.

The headmistress said other events planned to commemorate the School’s 60th anniversary which will be celebrated in July this year include a homecoming, a fund raising dinner dance, and a health walk

Kaneshie Senior High Technical School, formerly known as the Kaneshie Secondary Technical School (GREAT KATECO) was established in 1958. It is the only government secondary technical school in the capital city of Ghana which offers Technical, Science, Liberal Arts and commercial subjects.
