Kan Dapaah Endorses Akufo-Addo

Mr Albert Ken DapaahThe New Patriotic Party (NPP)  leading member, Albert Kan Dapaah claims that the twice-presidential candidate of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the most capable person to take Ghana out of the challenges confronting it.

According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo has prepared himself enough to better manage this country.

“I think he is what Ghana needs now,” Mr. Kan Dapaah said in an interview on Wednesday.

Nana Akufo-Addo is one of seven presidential hopefuls gunning to lead the NPP into the 2016 general elections despite losing in the two previous elections to the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills and current President John Mahama.

Other NPP flagbearer aspirants are Alan Kyerematen, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Kofi Osei Ameyaw and Francis Adai Nimoh.

But Mr. Dapaah, a former Minister of Defense and Energy, who close working with the lead contenders- Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyerematen- firmly believed the former has taken time to build himself for the highest position on the land.

His preference for Akufo-Addo, he said was because, the former Akyem Abuakwa South MP has proven beyond doubt he would be able to stand up to test and tackle corruption.

“I like Nana because, I believe he can stand up to any test and corruption,” said the former MP for Afigya Sekyere West who once supported the candidature of Alan Kyerematen.

Mr. Kan Dapaah was an Ashanti Regional representative on the National Council of the NPP and member of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee of the party from 1992-1996.

He won the Afigya-Sekyere seat at the 1996 parliamentary election and he stood in 2012.
