Enterprising reggae-dancehall artiste, Grace Kaaki Awo Ocansey, well-known in showbiz as Kaakie, hit the Tamale Sports Stadium last Sunday, to entertain her fans as part of her ongoing five-city tour dubbed Kaakit Up Tour.
The concert, which also marked the first performance of the artiste in the region, recorded a larger-than-crowd patronage, mainly by the youth, who filled the VIP stands of the stadium.
Kaakie, who picked the New Artiste and Reggae Dance Hall Song of the Year awards at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) performed alongside her dancers.””
The ‘Zuuchia’ and ‘Top Gyal Time’ hit-maker also used the occasion to educate the 4,000-plus patrons on maternal health, in line with her ongoing campaign on that subject.
Other top artistes who also performed at the event included Samini, Kwaw Kese, Edem, Stonebwoy, and Naterial, alongside a host of local artistes such as Fancy Gadem, Choggu Boys, the Last 2 dancers, Deensi, Tuba Dagomba and Kawastone.
The Kaakit Up Tour will take Kaakie – who is also a Nursing student of the University of Ghana – to Sunyani, Kumasi, Takoradi and Accra between May 26 to September 21, this year.
