Judgement Debts

The Judgement Debts Commission could not sit yesterday as the two institutions billed to appear before it, asked for an adjournment to avail themselves today.

They are, the Attorney-General’s Department and the Lands Commission.

Briefing the media about their absence, Mr. Kofi Dometi Sokpor, lead counsel for the Commission, said that the accredited representative of the Lands Commission travelled and arrived yesterday and was so exhausted that he could not honour the subpoena, whilst the representatives of the A-G’s Department also stated that they were still searching for some files.

The Sole Commissioner, Mr. Justice Yaw Apau, honourably granted their requests and adjourned the sitting to today.

Other institutions scheduled to appear this morning are the Judicial Service and the Confiscated Assets Department, alongside the Lands Commission and the A-G’s Department.
