More than 29 Japanese and the Ghanaian staff of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV), have organised a blood donation exercise in support of the National Blood Bank.
They were led by Mr. Koji Makino, the Chief representative of JICA.
This is the second of such exercise, and was done on humanitarian grounds.
According to Mr. Makino, JICA was not only in Ghana to develop bilateral relationship, but also to help save lives of Ghanaians, particularly the under-privileged.
The Chief Executive officer of the National Blood Service, Dr. Justina Korda Ansah, who was present, thanked the Chief Representative of JICA for showing such an exemplary gesture to the people of Ghana.
She said the Blood Bank would continue to call on Ghanaians and foreign nationals to help resource it by donating blood.
