Adarkwa, according to COP Agblor had been suspecting the wife of cheating on him and had confronted her about it several times.

“On that fateful day, Adakwa covered himself with a piece of cloth, hid himself behind a container with the intention to pour the acid on his wife. COP Agblor said the woman raised an alarm which attracted people who took her to hospital, but Adakwa managed to escape and went into hiding.

He said the acid affected the right part of the victim’s neck and scalp and also caused severe burns at her back.
