Inter- Allies CEO blames local companies

INTER Allies Chief Executive Eric Delali Senaye has revealed that corporate bodies are disinterested in sponsoring local clubs.

He made this revelation after his club unveiled their new kits for the upcoming season.

Allies have secured the bumper deal from Italian kit manufacturers Errea in a deal reported to be worth more than € 20,000.

The Ghana Premier League had made several unsuccessful attempts to secure sponsorship from local companies.

Senaye said: “It will interest you to know that Inter Allies have written over 100 sponsorship packages to companies and we’ve never gotten one cedi.

“But this is an European company that has invested over € 20,000 in our club, what are they getting for it? Nothing! They’re doing this because they want to help Africa what are the companies doing in Ghana, football isn’t for us (administrators), it’s for everybody.”

Senaye then heaped a lot praise on the media for setting standards for football club owners and administrators and as a result the raised standard of Inter Allies.

“The media after watching EPL games have raised the standard for Ghanaian football administrators. As much as possible we listen to the media and we want always to up our game to make you guys appreciate us,” he told the media.

“That’s one of the reasons why we outdoor our new kits to the crowd and believe me I think it’s the first time in our local football a football match was turned to an auctioning ground, fantastic!!”

*Egyptian Premier League side, Ismaily, will only sell Ghana striker John Antwi once the interested club is ready to pay 20 million Egyptian Pounds ($2.8 million) for the services of the ex-Hearts of Oak and Eleven Wise attacker, according to Egyptian news portal Alwafd.

Sporting Director of Karlsruhe, Jens Todt was in Egypt last Monday to watch Antwi in Ismaily’s clash with Asyouty Sport and the German Bundesliga side is expected to table a bid for the 22-year-old in the coming days.
