The Immanuel Methodist Society, East Airport, Accra has presented assorted quantities of consumables worth about GH¢4,000.00 and a cash donation of GH¢1,000.00 to the Senior Correctional Centre at Roman Ridge, Accra.
Led by the Women’s Fellowship of the Society, the donation was described as part of the religious and social responsibility of the members.
Rev. Anthony Boakye Dapaah, a minister of the Society said the Society chose to present the items and money to the inmates during the Easter season to demonstrate the love of the Lord to all mankind.
He urged its inmates to be obedient and to take whatever was imparted to them by their instructors seriously.
The president of the Immanuel Methodist Women’s Fellowship, Mrs Janet Amoasi-Andoh commended the officials of the correctional home for the good work in helping to mould the inmates and equipping them with occupational skills.
The items were received on behalf of the centre by Very Rev. Anthony Brown, the Prison Service chaplain.
The delegation was led by the Very Rev. Prof. David Kwamena Ekem, minister of the Immanuel Society.
