Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Frank Nuttal, has said he is under no pressure to beat arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko when the two teams clash in the finals of the MTN/FA Cup on Sunday in Tamale.
He made this assertion during a mandatory press conference at the club’s secretariat in Accra yesterday.
According to the coach, he believes in the strength of his team and would surmount any challenges they are facing and come out victorious.
“There are several challenges in the team like injuries and salaries for players but those are normal in football and the team must not be under pressure to win,” he stated.
The team, he said, is highly focused and as professionals, they must be able to deliver as they did in previous games.
“There’s no pressure to win the Cup and I do not feel the pressure in football as a coach. Even though we are making the Cup finals for first time in 17 years, we must not be under pressure to deliver,” he said.
Despite injuries in camp, he said he has a very good team both in defence and in attack to ensure they put up a good challenge.
Team Manager Shaaban Quaye is also optimistic that Hearts would beat their rivals convincingly to win the trophy.
“It is going to be a very big win for Hearts without a shadow of doubt. The trophy would be heading back to Accra,” he stated.
He also denied reports of bribery in camp saying “those are just rumours by Kotoko and must be treated as such.”
Hearts are looking forward to winning their first major trophy in eight years and set to leave Accra on Saturday for Tamale for the game.
