Herbert Addo Shows Faith In Abanga

kofi_abangaThe headcoach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Herbert Addo has shown faith in the club’s midfielder, Kofi Abanga, vowing to turn his career around this campaign seasson when the Phobians seek to end Asante Kotoko’s grip on the league.

Abanga was among the top players many expected to be axed from the squad but the technical team did not find enough grounds to transfer the one time darling all Hearts fans, as the head coach Herbert Addo insists that he will make the player bounce back to his former self.

Abanga joined the Phobians in the 2008 transfer window from Aduana Stars and became an instant hit especially during his first two years, winning call ups to the various national teams back then.

Abanga’s activities on the field of play was limited soon after, an action that can be blamed on many factors, with nagging injuries and stiff player competition among the playing body, as the main ones.

He has scored only five goals in all competitions for the Phobians, this does not worry coach Herbert Addo who has mentioned that he started monitoring Abanga since his days with Aduana Stars and believes he can bring him back to his best.

“Abanga is a special breed when it comes to players and for his kind, it’s difficult to duplicate. He is a very good player, no doubt, but he also comes with something extra that only good coaches will know and identify.

As for injuries, they are part of a footballer’s life and I believe that once that is out of the way, we can all help restore Abanga to his former self”, Herbert Addo said.

According to him, the rebuilding is still ongoing and a few more players should be expected to exit the Club adding that the technical team is working round the clock to ensure that they gather the best arsenals for the Club in the coming season.
