Hearts Will Float More Shares –Togbe Afede

TOGBE AFEDE (1)Board chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has asked people in desperate mood to own shares in the club to wait a little longer.

Togbe Afede, who is the majority shareholder at the Phobian club, has come under a barrage of attacks from some top brass of the club, claiming he is running a one-man show.

According to the disgruntled few, Togbe’s style of administration has seen the club’s fortune dim in the last five years.

A former chairman of the club, Harry Zakkour, is among those that openly declared their intentions to challenge Togbe Afede till the right administrative measures are put in place.

But speaking to Times Sports, the Agbogbomefia of the Ho Asogli State said his critics should just hold their fire for a while as the club will soon give them the opportunity to contribute to the club in the way they want.

“Accra Hearts of Oak needs more money; they should wait for the club to float more shares. The shares would be out very soon for them to come on board.”

For now we at the board are concentrating on the upcoming season and we want to put the right structures in place to ensure that we are crowned champions at the end of the season.

The 20-time Ghana league champions are yet to win any major title since 2009 when they last won the league title and this phenomenon, according to Togbe Afede, was unfortunate and does not befit the status of a club like Hearts of Oak.

He urged the club’s faithful to throw their weight behind the board.
