Newly appointed Acting Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Daniel Sergio Moniz Traguil, says there is no pressure on him to perform in his new capacity.

The Portuguese tactician, who was earlier contracted by the Phobians to take charge of the club’s nursery sides, Auroras and Royal Oaks said this yesterday when he was unveiled as Kenichi Yatsuhatsi’s replacement until a substantive coach was appointed.

Speaking at the ceremony at the club’s secretariat, Coach Traguil said there is no pressure in football as far as he was concerned, adding that football is a job he does and it is something he loves so he does not feel any pressure.

“I was born for it so I am in for the challenge that the Hearts of Oak job comes with on any day, pressure for me is the pressure we put on our opponents on the field of play to win back the ball in their possession and nothing more.”

According to him he was in the country for a different challenge but an extra challenge has been added and he sees it as a normal thing which he can cope.

Head of the Strategy Committee of the club, Mr. Vincent Sowah Odotei reiterated that the Portuguese trainer would perform in an acting position till a substantive coach is found. According to him it was as a matter of urgency that he was appointed to head the technical team for the mean time.

“It was at a meeting on Tuesday with the assistant coaches and some senior players that we got to know that the assistant coach, Yaw Preko would also be away from the team in July, so we had to draft in Sergio Traguil to fill the vacuum.”

He noted that their main objective this season is to stabilise the club and be competitive and win the league if the chance comes.
