Hearts To Be Forced To Pay Duncan

DncnTHE representative of former Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan will this week begin the process to force the club to pay him the GHC¢86,000 severance package for his dismissal.

The Ghana FA Player Status Committee found the club guilty for not serving notice to the coach-which was inserted in his contract-before his contract was terminated in November.

Last week, the Review Committee of the Ghana FA, threw out an application by Hearts to dismiss the ruling after failing to achieve that through the Appeals Committee.

The Phobians would be served a demand notice next week in which the demands of his client would be stated and where the amount should be lodged.

“If they fail to comply then we would be compelled to enforce the judgment,” Lawyer Adu Amoah told the Graphic Sport.

Amoah says the decision by Hearts to seek legal redress is shocking and futile after going through all the grievance resolution processes at the Ghana FA.

*Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila could leave Mamelodi Sundowns since the PSL outfit have exceeded their quota of non-South African players.

According to reports, one Brazilian

would have to make way for a top-class Zimbabwean forward Kudakwashe Mahachi.

Mahachi became the sixth foreign addition to Downs’ line-up after he recently inked a five-year contract with the big-spending Brazilians.

Mahachi caught Sundowns scouts’ eyes following his sparkling showing for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cape Town in January.

A Downs insider revealed to Sowetanive that “’one must go, and I can tell you now that it is going to happen before the new season kicks off.”

Teams are allowed to sign five foreigners, but only three can play in a match. The other two can come in as substitutes for other foreigners.

The foreigners in Chloorkop are midfielder Khama Billiat, striker Cuthbert Malajila (both Zimbabweans), Togolese Dove Wome, Ghanaian Rashid Sumaila and Zambian Mulenga Mukuka.

Sumaila, who is with the Black Stars of Ghana in Brazil, has been linked with clubs in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
