Hearts thrashed in Libya

ACCRA Hearts of Oak were trounced 3-0 by Libyan side, Al Ahli Tripoli in an international pre-season game played at the Tripoli International Stadium yesterday.

The game which is the first of two international friendlies for the two clubs saw the host take the game to the visitors in the opening exchanges but failed to convert their efforts.

The 2014 Libyan premier league champions, however, opened the scoring in the 31st minute of the game after piling pressure on the Phobian defense

The Phobians attempted to fight back but were stunned with the second goal on the stroke of half.

Back from recess, the 11-times Libyan league holders put the game beyond the reach of the Ghanaian when they got the third goal of the game on the 50th minute mark.

The Phobians who are in the Libyan capital to prepare ahead of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League which has been tentatively scheduled to kick off January 10, 2016, will on Friday have another opportunity to exact revenge on their host.
