Hearts get new physio

NmACCRA Hearts of oak has appointed Ernest Anum as the team’s new Physiotherapist.

Anum, who was once upon a time, an assistant physiotherapist for the

Phobians during the era of its Serbian coach Kosta Papic, was

dismissed under some bizarre circumstances soon after the coach left

the Club.

The young physiotherapist, whose appointment has already taken effect, was on the

bench of the Phobians last Saturday during their ‘home’ game against

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) which they won by a lone goal.

Anum replaces the more experienced Commey Bortsie whose

appointment was terminated yet again under some bizarre circumstances

by the current Hearts’ Management.

As expected, Ernest will be working hand in hand with the club’s

legendary masseur, Aliu Adjetey popularly known as Ozii Ozaa.

Meanwhile, following their slim 1-0 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak last Saturday,

head coach of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) John Killa, believes

that his side needs to add a few experienced players to beef up the

According to him, his players did very well on the day but lacked the

needed drive and experience to beat the Phobians, who by far, had much

better players in terms of experience.

“These are academy players and they did their best and played very

well. At one point, you could see that the Phobians could not even get

their feet on the ball, but at the end, we lost and that is very

disappointing”, John Killa mentioned.

“I believe that we can do with some much experienced players in the

second round because the team is very solid and have the tendency of

doing well in the league but, inexperience on the part of the boys

will eventually have a telling effect on them.”

“We haven’t discussed that yet as a technical team. I am just saying

it because of what happened in the game. But I believe that in all, the

boys gave a very good account of themselves and even the Hearts fans

occasionally applauded their efforts in the game”.
