Hearts deny Stanbic Bank deal

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited has denied media reports that the club has signed a deal with Stanbic Bank International to sponsor the building of 20,000 seater sports stadium as part of the Pobiman project.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr Kwame Opare Addo, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club said, there was no agreement between the club and the bank as was reported in the media.

“There is no proposal from Stanbic bank to the club to sponsor the Pobiman project so there is no truth in the news circulating that we have had an agreement with the bank to build a stadium for the club,” he said.

He said, “Hearts is a great club and for that matter, the management of the club led by Mr Mark Noonan is putting good things in place to ensure that the club will have good training facilities that would meet international standards.

Mr Addo said, the players and the management were very pleased with the work of the new coach, Kim Grant, adding that, they were ready to give him the necessary support.

“The management is very happy with the work of the new coach and we are ready to assist him in terms of player recruitment to bring the team to its glory days,” he said. –GNA
