The Ministry of Health (MOH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Synergy Group B.V to construct a modern hospital complex at the Tema General Hospital at a cost of USD 250 million.
The hospital complex, financed by Synergy Group B.V on a ‘turnkey’ collaborative agreement would involve the construction of 420 capacity bed hospital in accordance with the approved plan and project programmes by the MOH.
The Minister of Health, Minter Alexander Segbefia signed the agreement for the Government of Ghana while Mr. David Carmely, Chief Executive Officer of Synergy Group B.V signed for his company in Accra yesterday.
Mr. Carmerly said the facility would include facilities that the present hospital doesn’t have, saying “it will comprise of a psychiatric facility, a medical staff housing and emergency and trauma centre among others”.
Mr. Segbefia stated that the project, when completed would cater for the health needs of residents of Tema, Ashaiman, and Kpone Katamanso at the Tema metropolis and its environs where the hospital could not effectively serve the needs of its patients.
