Ambassador John Akologu Tia has urged the people of the Upper East Region to continue to have faith and confidence in President John Dramami Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to deliver on their pledge to better their living standards.
He pointed out that the massive infrastructural development across the country and in the region within four years was ample testimony of that commitment.
Ambassador Tia, who is Ghana’s Ambassador to Cuba, made this exhortation when he launched the Bongo NDC Constituency Campaign for the candidate, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa at Bongo on Sunday.
‘’Continue to have faith in President John Dramani Mahama by giving him a resounding victory on December 7, 2016,’’ he told the enthusiastic supporters. He however, cautioned them to avoid any skirt and blouse voting, “so as President, his party must have full control of Parliament”.
Mr. Albert Abongo, Upper East Regional Minister, commended the electorate of the constituency for keeping faith with the NDC since 1992.
“NDC is a party that believes in unity and I’m appealing to you to bury all differences that emanated from the acrimonious primaries and vote massively for President Mahama and parliamentary aspirant, Bawa,” he stressed.
Mr. Bawa appealed to the people for forgiveness, saying “if I or members of my campaign team stepped on any toes put it behind you and let’s forge ahead together for victory in the December 7 poll’’.
Mr. James Agalga, Deputy Minister of Interior admonished the people to remain law abiding in the face of any provocation from their political opponents.
