Gyan Making Fast Recovery

GyanBLACK Stars’ captain Asamoah Gyan trained without any supporting braces with Al Ain last Saturday evening to signal his nearness to full fitness.

The 28-year-old has been struggling with a thigh strain which was initially diagnosed to keep him out of action for just a week.

But the Black Stars captain failed to make the recovery within the expected time despite flying in a personal therapist.

Gyan thus missed Al Ain’s big league clash against rivals Al Ahli in a match that eventually ended in a 1-1 draw last Monday.

The ex Sunderland man has however kept his recovery schedule and is close to returning to full scale training with his UAE club.

He trained without any strapping support to his injured thigh in the evening session at the Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.

He however continues to train alone with a physical instructor.

Thursday’s Cup clash against Al Jazira might come too early for the returning Ghana striker but he is expected to regain full fitness in time to join the Black Stars for this month’s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.
