Gyan Donates To Youth Centre

PrsntThe captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has donated $4000 to the Blantyre Youth Center in Malawi after holding a soccer clinic last Friday.

The Al Ain ace spent the day with kids from four soccer academies in Malawi at the Youth Center.

Gyan is in Malawi to hold several actives towards as part of the Protect the Goal campaign waged by UNAIDS to battle HIV/AIDS on the African continent.

He interacted with the team members and their coaches and did some little coaching on how to improve the technique of the players.

The four teams that participated in the clinic include Play Soccer Academy (U8), Play Soccer Academy (U14), Maggie Chombo Academy and Kangaroo Academy.

The fun day offered the kids an opportunity to have close interactions with the Black Stars captain who is highly popular in Malawi.

Gyan inspired them with his own personal experiences, challenges and sacrifices he’s had to make in order to be a successful footballer.

The kids also had the opportunity to take memorable photographs with their idol and get most of their wears autographed.

The Black Stars captain then donated $4000 towards the improvement of facilities at the Youth Center.

Gyan was expected to visit the HIV center in Malawi on Saturday where he will make another donation and attend the Malawi Knockout Final match to wrap up his brief stay in Malawi.
