GTUC Partners Staffordshire Varsity

GTUC (1)The Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) has entered into its 15th foreign partnership and collaboration, with the Staffordshire University of the United Kingdom (UK), at its Open Day in Accra.

It afforded the students the opportunity to learn more about the Staffordshire University programmes being offered at GTUC, as well as meet the faculty and admission officers of the two institutes.

The GTUC already has relationship with the Aalborg University, Denmark; Coventry University, UK; Hertfordshire University, UK; Goodwin College, USA; DePaul University, USA; Central State University, USA; Southern Polytechnic State University, USA; Wildau Institute of Applied Sciences, Germany; and the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany.

The rest are the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa; the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea; the SRM University, India; the Guilin University of Technology, China; and the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute, Kenya.

Addressing the students, the president of GTUC, Dr Osei Darkwa, said “this is the first time the college is entering into partnership with Staffordshire University, for its programmes”.

The programme will begin next January, for the 2014/2015 academic year. Dr. Darkwa said with the collaboration, seasoned lecturers both local and foreign, will be teaching in their various fields of endeavour.

“Staffordshire University has a reputation for delivering cutting edge technology education. The university’s flagship programmes are in computing and related areas of studies,” he pointed out.  By Daniel Amoo.
