GTF selects 10 for 2019 African Games

The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has selected 10 athletes to prepare for the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, from August 19-31.

The squad includes, seven males and three females and would commence special justify-your- inclusion exercise to be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The selected players includes; Lawrence Tweasam (-54kg), Benson Addo (-58kg), Julian Aryee (-68kg), Frank Ade Mensah (-64kg), Michael Davidson (-87kg), Joshua Nii Aryettey (+87kg), Selasi Damalie (-63kg), Kezia Elemawusi Gbedze (-46kg), Henrietta Naa Ayeley Armah (-49kg) and Mercy Asaitewie Ati (-62kg).

Mr Frederick Lartey Otu, President of GTF, commended the technical team for the great work in ensuring that the best athletes were selected for the team.

Mr Otu said the future of the sport was very important as Ghana also prepares for the 2023 Games and hopes that many of the athletes would gain experience to amass more medals for Ghana. –GNA
