Gruesome murder of couple at Abura Dunkwa

Abura Dunkwa, in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central region, was thrown into a state of shock, following the murder of a couple in the town.

 

The deceased Kojo Mensah and the wife, Ohemaa Efua, were found lying in a pool of blood early yesterday.

 

The District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jonathan K. Bannie, confirmed the death.

 

Police source indicated that the case had been transferred to the Central Regional Police for further investigations.

 

It said the throats of the couple were slit by the unknown attacker, who probably committed the heinous crime Sunday night.

The source said the bodies were discovered Monday morning by the son of the couple,  who was not getting responses from the deceased after several knock on the door, and forced the door to the room opened.

 

It indicated that the son found the slain couple lying on the floor (carpet) dead with blood on the carpet.

 

A source at the Regional Police Command told the Ghanaian Times that, the son of the deceased as well as other residents had written statements, to help unravel the death of the couple.

 

It said so far, the police was conducting investigations to ascertain the circumstances leading to such a heinous crime as well as ensuring that the perpetrator was brought to book.
