GPC To Launch Paralympic Sports Festival

The Ghana Paralympic Committee (GPC) will today, launch the first ever National Paralympic Sports Festival (NPSF) at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium at 10am.

The launch is expected to commence activities towards the first ever Paralympic Sports Festival, aimed at unearthing new talents in para-sports for Ghana.

A statement signed by Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the GPC said the ceremony formed part of activities designed by the committee for the celebration of the sports festival.

The statement said the launch would also afford the GPC the opportunity to inform the media about preparations towards the event.

The festival, which is in collaboration with Agitos Foundation, International Paralympic Committee (IPC), National Sports Authority (NSA), Ministry of Youth and Sports, will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It will also be used as a justifier for the 2016 Paralympic Games.

10 regions are expected to present teams in athletics, goal-ball, table tennis, basketball, amputee football, tae-kwondo and tennis.
