Gomoa West poised for development

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa West, Mr. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has urged the people to assist the government to improve their living conditions.

He says the government is committed to spreading development to all communities and therefore imperative that people mobilize resources to supplement what the government offers.

Mr. Aidoo-Mensah was addressing the chiefs and people of Gomoa Darmang as part of his visits the district to acquaint himself with the problems of the people.

He was accompanied by some staff of the Assembly, the Health and Education Directorates.

He assured the town of a a Junior High School Block and reshaping the road which links the Dawurampong Apam-Junction.

Mr. Aidoo-Mensah advised parents to be interested in the education of their children since it is the best legacy they can leave for better life in future.

Miss Fatima Tweng, the District Disease Control Officer, said last year the Directorate recorded numerous cholera cases,   with Darmang reporting 20 cases, which was not the best.

She advised the people to stop buying food from road side vendors and not to indulge in open defecation, and wash their hands after to nature’s call.

Nana Adoo Kwesi V, the Omankrado, commended the government and the Assembly for providing the town with a poly tank and a bore hole.

The DCE later presented two sealing machines to garri processors of Gomoa Kumasi to use it to seal their products:
