Golden Putters overtake Power Club in minigolf league

Golden Putters have climbed to the top of the ongoing Coca-Cola clubs mini golf competition which entered the third week over the weekend at the Ridge Sports City in Accra.

Golden Putters were splendid on the day as they dethroned Power Club with a 12 point lead at the top.

The Club garnered a total score of 792 to lead the pack with 24 points. The Somasse brothers won the league’s ad hoc prizes as the Lowest Score in the league and for Lowest Pairs scored.

Power Club followed second on the league table with a total score of 815 and 19 points to maintain the record for highest Holes-in-One putted at 36. The homegrown Nutterz Putterz came in third, Black Putters were fourth, Forbes Club came fifth and Kama Club settled for sixth with 18,18,13 and13 points respectively.

According to the organisers, Ghana Minigolf Federation (GMF), the game was very open despite the rivalry shown so far in the league with the Francophone clubs having the edge over teams like the Golden Putters and Kama.

Ghana are challenging with clubs  Black Putters, Power, Nutterz Putterz and Forbes who are prepared to stage a huge fight on week four.

Top six clubs after week five of the league will qualify to the finals on December 16 to declare the champion club who will win the first prize of GH¢ 2,500.

There will be additional prizes awarded to runners up and best league players with Melcom home appliances, Latex Foam mattresses, Azar paints, Interplast products, shopping and restaurant vouchers from sponsors.
