The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has appointed Ms. Philippa Larsen as acting National President of the association.
Ms. Larsen, who was then the acting Vice President of GNAT was elevated to the new position at the association’s National Council Meeting held at the GNAT Village at Abankro, near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, from August 30 to September 1, 2016.
Her appointment follows the resignation of the President, Mr. Alexander Mawusi Buadi to pursue his appointment as the Volta Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
A statement signed by Peter Korda, Head of Public Relations of GNAT, said Ms. Larsen would occupy the position until their National Delegates’ Conference is held in January 2018.
It said the association’s Council also elected and appointed Mr. Sebastian Virizeo Sorinye as the new Vice President of GNAT.
The statement called for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders to enable the new executives to carry out their mandate for the benefit of the association.
