Global Evangelical Church builds chapel at Manchie

Rt.Rev.Ofori breaking the ground with the Caterpillar. With him is Evangelist Vincent Botoho. The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), the Right Reverend Dr. S.K. Ofori, has cut the sod for the construction of a GH¢700,000.00 church for Manchie, near Medie, in the Ga West municipality.

The project is expected to be completed in three years. The function was under the theme, ‘Let us build together’.

The Moderator, in a sermon, admonished Christians to pray always, because it was the only way they could communicate with God.

He asked true Christians not to be bothered by the derogatory stories often peddled against them by unbelievers, adding that, children of God could not be conquered by Satan.

Rt. Rev. Ofori was full of praise for the Manchie congregation because of their determination and ambition to raise more than GH¢700,000 for the church project, despite the limitation in numerical strength, and promised to make the congregation an example for others to emulate.

He also expressed his appreciation to Nii Oto Tsuru Sheriff, the custodian of the Manchie lands, for donating an additional plot free of charge for the church building.

Present at the function were the Rev. Dr. C.F.W. Gbekor, Rector of the Global Theological Seminary, Rev. Dr. M.K. Allotey, Accra Presbytery Clerk of the church, Evangelist Vincent Botoho and Mr. George Kutortse who chaired the function.

A fundraising by Evangelist Vincent Botoho yielded GH¢8,000.00 in cash, and GH¢28,720.00 in pledges.
