GLICO Group Wins Gold Award



Mr Kwame Achampong-KyeiFor showing outstanding performance in the insurance industry, GLICO Group of Companies, providers of insurance and financial services, has been awarded the Ghana Business and Financial Service Excellence Gold Award, a release issued by Corporate Affairs Department of the company said.

The award scheme is instituted under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry to honour business enterprises for their remarkable contributions to the socio-economic growth and development of the country.

A citation accompanying the award highly commended GLICO Group for playing an important role in Ghana’s insurance industry and the economy by introducing innovative and suitable products and services into the market, creating employment for the youth, generating revenue for the government and supporting communities and corporate bodies to fulfill their programmes.

The Chairman of GLICO Group, Kwame Acheampong-Kyei noted in the release that the award was an encouragement to GLICO, urging the company to work extra harder and make meaningful contributions to the nation’s development.

“To all GLICO’s stakeholders, thank you so much for your support and loyalty that has propelled GLICO to become an organisation of great repute. We will continue to deliver on our promise to cushion you for life,” Mr. Achampong-Kyei remarked.

The GLICO Life started in 1987 at Abossey Okai by Mr. Achampong- Kyei to “bring life insurance to the doorstep of Ghanaians” and has since grown into a group of companies with six well-performing companies namely: Glico Life, Glico General, Glico Healthcare, Glico Financials, Glico Properties and Glico Pensions.

This year’s award ceremony, the sixth edition, was held in Accra on November 15, under the theme, “Promoting Ghana’s economic development.” By Salifu Abdul- Rahaman
