Mr Kyei recounted that GLICO, then Gemini Life Insurance Company, established a branch office in Kumasi in the 1990’s to offer life insurance solutions to the people of Ashanti region and its environs in line with its objectives to bring life insurance services to the door step of every Ghanaian.

He said “with the successful growth of GLICO into a Group status, 2009 saw other lines of insurance services, namely, non- life insurance and micro insurance added to the life insurance products.  Recently, pension’s services have also been added to the list of services offered to customers and clients in the Ashanti region.”

GLICO LIFE (then GLICO) for the past six years has received various categories of awards from silver to gold and now Platinum at the financial excellence awards. For the first time, GLICO GENERAL was awarded gold for its contributions to the non- life insurance sector in the Ashanti region.
