GIFEC presents laptops to Ho Schools

rLG 001The Ho West District Assembly, with support from Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), on Wednesday presented fifty laptop computers to five basic schools in the Ho West District.

The beneficiary schools: Kpedze RC JSS, Dzogbefeme D.A JSS, Bakpe D.A JSS, Fuma Vocational Institute of Ecological Technique and Akome E.P. JSS all receive4d ten computers each.

Mr. Sammy Swoade, Ho West District Chief Executive, handing over the computers called for more partnerships between the Assembly and GIFEC towards investing in education for the benefit of deprived schools.

He charged the beneficiary schools to concentrate on the positive aspect of Information Communication Technology (ICT) for the benefit and progress of life.

According to him, ICT must be used to research into career and individual desires to pursue and discover new things.

“Computers should be used to acquire skills and knowledge, but not to waste time on irrelevant things”, he advised.

He urged the teachers not to send any of the laptap computers home but to use them to enhance the teaching ICT for the benefit of the children.

Nii Tetteh Dzisah, a tutor from Fume who received the computers on behalf of the beneficiary schools thanked the donors for the gesture.

He promised that they would be put to good use and take good care of them to improve teaching and learning of ICT.
