GIFEC donates to Henry Int School

Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has donated ten laptop computers to Henry House International School, a private basic school in Kpenoe a suburb of Ho.

The gesture was in fulfillment of a promise made by GIFEC to support private schools in the Ho Municipality, to enhance teaching and learning of ICT.

Making the presentation on behalf of Mr. Kofi Attor, Executive Director of GIFEC, Mr. Emmanuel Kafui Dzamefe, an assembly member for Agogoe Lume Electoral Area, explained that the move was to support the school’s learning and teaching programme which started a few years ago.

He called for more partnerships between the public and private schools towards investing in education for the benefit of children, especially in deprived schools.

Mr. Attor called on the school authorities to take good care of the computers, and make sure that they were kept in the computer laboratory for the use of the children.

The proprietress of the school Mrs. Bernice Atubra, thanked Mr. Kofi Attor for the gesture, adding that the computers would help to make ICT training in the school more accessible to the pupils.

She expressed worry that many of the pupils owe the school, making it extremely difficult in the management of the school.

Mrs. Atubra therefore appealed to the parents to try and pay part of the outstanding bills of their wards, to help provide more equipments to enhance learning.
