Ghana RE assists institutions

The beneficiaries are the College of Health Sciences, Ghana National Trust Fund, Students Financial Aid Office, Ghana Heart Foundation, School of Medical Sciences in Kumasi, Urology Department and the Department of Child Health of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Presenting the amount at a ceremony in Accra, the Managing Director of GRC, Dr. Abiba Zakariah said the company and the insurance industry depended on thriving communities for business and the foundation for their existence.

She said it was therefore essential to support institutions promoting healthcare and education delivery in the communities.

Dr. Zakariah said the company had over the years, exhibited its commitment to the promotion of education and healthcare through training of specialists.

“We believe in local capacity building, and for this reason we continue to contribute to the Post Graduate Endowment Fund of the College of Health Sciences to train more medical specialists,” she added.

The managing director commended the beneficiaries for their dedication in promoting healthcare and education delivery in the country, and assured them of their continuous support in helping them to achieve their goals.

The Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Patrick Ayikuma, on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the management of the company for the gesture, and called on other institutions, agencies to support the promotion of health care delivery in the country.
