Ghana gas back to full service

Dr George Sipa-YankeyThe Ghana National Gas Company’s Atuabo Gas processing plant has resumed processing, production and supply of various gas products from the Jubilee Field FPSO Kwame Nkrumah since Thursday, April 30.

The plant was shut down on Monday, April 20, for planned statutory maintenance, which ended on Wednesday, April 29.

A press statement said operations of the plant had been brought back to full service following the completion of the requisite works.

It said subsequently, supply to the downstream off-takers started Thursday, April 30.

The statement said Ghana Gas was collaborating with the Volta River Authority to manage the transition to full production within the coming days, explaining that the VRA needed to optimize the situation since it had progressively increased its offtake of processed lean gas for power production in the Aboadze Thermal power enclave.

“The Board and Management of Ghana Gas commend its plant engineers and other stakeholders for their diligence and commitment to duty in completing the works ahead of schedule,” it said.
