‘Ghana Can Deal With Germany’

OTTO Addo, former Black Stars’ international believes Ghana can deal with Germany’s world cup sensation Thomas Muller and get the better in Germany in their crucial world cup meeting on Saturday because the Europeans have weaknesses that the Black Stars can exploit.

The Black Stars must beat the three-time world champions for the first time or get at least a point if they are to keep their hopes of progress through to the second round at the world cup on course.

And Addo, the Germany born former Ghana international who now works as a coach with Hamburg SV believes the Germans are beatable despite their near perfect 4-0 demolition of Portugal on their Brazil 2014 debut.

“They have a good team and there is no doubt about that but even against Portugal there were chances. It will be difficult but we will have our chances,” Addo said. “There are many weaknesses

but they are issues I will discuss with the coach and I hope we will find the right decisions and the players find the right decisions to win this game. There are a lot of things to be done better and probably defending is one of them. I know they can be done better than the players. I am 100 per cent sure they will do that against Germany.”

The former Black Star who played for Ghana at the 2006 world cup says the all round quality of the German team makes them tough opponents but reckons the biggest threat could come from Thomas Muller, the Bayern Munich star who are 24 years has scored eight world cup goals including a hat trick in that 4-0 demolition of Portugal.

“The whole team is good and Thomas Muller is one of them. He is very, very dangerous because he plays very simple and his moves are near to perfect. We have to do our best to stop him. We have our quality players at the back that can stop him. I am sure about that,” he said.
