NENE Abayaateye Amegatcher, National President of the Ghana Bar Association, has led officials of the National Executive Council of the association on a familiarisation tour to some facilities of the Judicial Service at Ho in the Volta Region.
The team inspected and assessed the deplorable state of the bungalow of the supervising High Court judge.
Nene Amegatcher expressed his displeasure about the deplorable state of some buildings housing the Judicial Service officials, noting that since the colonial masters handed over the buildings they had never seen any major renovation.
He said since January this year, government subvention to the service had not been released for the renovation of the facilities and expressed regret that the Judiciary as one of the arms of government had been neglected by the Executive.
Nene Amegatcher noted that the situation did not augur well for the democratic dispensation of the country since the Judiciary was a vital arm of democratic governance.
