TWENTY Playing Cards teams in the Greater Accra Region will battle for supremacy as the fourth edition of the Greater Accra Regional Playing Cards competition kicks off on November 28, at the La Trade Fair Centre in Accra.
The two-day event, put together by Media 2 Concepts, which ends on November 29, will have the ultimate winners walk home with a cash prize from GH¢ 1,000 as well as products of the sponsors.
The first and second runners-up will also go home with GH¢700 and GH¢500 respectively plus products from sponsors.
Launching the competition, sponsored by Kasapreko and Promasidor under its Miksi brand, at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium, the Deputy Director General (Technical) at the National Sports Authority (NSA) Mr. Saka Acquaye called on organisers to consider a regional event that would bring together various champions across the country next time around.
The CEO of Media 2 Concepts, Steve Tawiah Bortier, alias DJ Lalo, stated that they had plans of taking the event to the regional and national level in the coming year but that would heavily depend on the response they get from their sponsors.
He thanked the NSA, Kasapreko Company Limited, Promasidor Ghana Limited and Kingdom Capital Ghana Limited as well as the Municipal Chief Executive for La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), MS Rita Odoley Sowah, for their huge support in making the annual event a success.
Aasha Game Club from Teshie is the defending champions of the Greater Accra Regional Playing Cards Competition after beating France 98 500-420 in the last edition.
