A free vacation classes organised for pupils around Madina in Accra has been climaxed with a durbar at the compound of the La-Nkwantanang Cluster of Schools in Madina.
The classes were organised by the Centre for Poverty Alleviation and Value For Life, two non- governmental organisations.
The occasion attracted pupils from the Nkwantanang Cluster of Schools, Adenta Experimental, Danfa Methodist Basic, Oyarifa Presby, Teiman Anglican and Pantang Presby Basic.
Mr Samuel Ablakwa Okudjeto, the Deputy Minister of Education, who was the Chairman for the occasion, congratulated the organisers of the event, and urged them to expand the coverage of the project to benefit other deprived communities across the country.
He said there is the need to add fieldwork and the creative arts to such classes to expose the pupils to new skills.
Mr Sosu, the Head of Centre for Poverty Alleviation, said it is in the best interest of the pupils that free holiday classes are organised adding that a component like the creative arts would enhance the productivity of the children.
Madam Dzifa Gomashie, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts, and Head of Value For Life, said similar classes have been organised in Ho and expressed her appreciation to their sponsors for the assistance.
