Four Suspected Robbers Arrested

The timely intervention of the Kasoa Police foiled an attempted robbery at a beverage distribution company at Kasoa, in the Central Region, last Wednesday.

The police arrested the four members of the gang, one of them a Togolese, at a check point near Kasoa.

They were Isaac Yamoah, 29, Isaac Nyarko, 20, both drivers, Salifu Redwine, 20, the Togolese, and Mustapha Issah, 21.

Yamoah who is said to have been working with the company for the past five months, is alleged to have masterminded the plan.

He is said to have asked the other accomplices to rob him of the proceeds after distributing beverages to customers at Senya Bereku in the Central Region.

The Kasoa District Police Crime Officer Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Samuel Naa Musah, disclosed this to The Ghanaian Times here yesterday.

He said on November 15, at about 5:30 p.m. Nyarko, Redwine and Issah boarded a vehicle for the operation.

On reaching Akotsi Junction, a police patrol team on duty stopped the vehicle and searched it, adding that two toy guns and a knife concealed in a polythene bag were found on Nyarko.

Nyarko mentioned the other accomplices in the vehicle and they were apprehended.

DSP Musah stated that the three mentioned Yamoah as the leader and he was also arrested.

DSP Musah said they would soon be put before court on charges of conspiracy and attempted robbery.
